Freakclown was born in 2002 from the desire to create an innovative circus comedy theatre company, breaking away from traditional patterns, under the direction of Alessandra Pasi and Rita Pelusio, and later Philip Radice.
They have performed in theaters, circuses, streets, and squares all over Italy, including islands, as well as in Germany, Portugal, France, Switzerland, South Africa, and Spain.
“The clowns as you’ve never seen them before” is their slogan, reflecting their choice to break with previous performance traditions, creating a rupture filled with positive energy and a generous dose of self-irony. With these words, they won the Torototela prize in 2010 for the promotion of street artistic expressions in the Piedmont region.
After producing various shows both on stage and in the streets, in 2015 they became part of the cast of the Cirque du Soleil show “Allavita!”.
